FAQ

General Meat Questions

  1. Where does my meat come from?

Your meat comes from families, farms, and ranches of America. We focus on providing  you the freshest and most nutrient-rich meat possible.

  1. What is meat aging and is the meat I buy aged?

Our meat is a mixture of dry and wet aged. This helps the meat have a more rich flavor, tenderness, and overall better eating experience.

  1. How is my meat processed and handled?

We are committed to bringing you and your family meat that is safely handled.  Our meat is minimally processed to preserve the marbling, flavor, and tenderness you come to expect from us. All meat is cut and packaged under USDA inspection to ensure each cut of meat is safe. Food safety is of utmost importance to us.

  1. How is my meat packaged?

We take great care to package your meat in a temperature controlled environment. Your meat will be vacuumed sealed for freshness, flavor, and longevity. Then we will put your cuts into boxes (sleeves). Once the cuts are in their sleeves, the sleeves will be added to a bigger shipping box and will have dry ice put into the box. This box will then be sealed up and shipped to you!

  1. How long can my meat box be outside when delivered to my house?

Sufficient dry ice has been added to each box to account for outside temperature and days in transit to your home. As soon as it arrives at your home, please immediately place it into your freezer to keep the meat cold until ready to eat.

  1. How do I store my meat?

We recommend having a freezer chest or upright freezer to store your meat. Depending on the poundage you purchased, you will need more space to freeze the meat until you're ready to consume it. Meat will last in the freezer up to one year. You can also put your meat directly into the refrigerator and consume it within 2-3  days.

  1. How do I safely handle my meat?

When your meat arrives at your house, you should put it into your freezer immediately. When you are ready to cook your meat, we suggest putting it in your refrigerator to defrost slowly and at safe temperatures.

  1. How long is my meat good for?

When frozen, your meat will be good for one year from purchase date. When raw/fresh, your meat will be good for 2-3 days (as long as it has been refrigerated below 44 degrees Fahrenheit).

  1. Do you have recipe suggestions I can use?

Yes! Please make sure to visit our website for cooking ideas and instructions. We also frequently post this information on social media.

Shipping and Delivery

***My meat was shipped from a different location than I was expecting, why is that?

Shipping Meat all over the United States is a huge undertaking! Because of the perishable nature of our products, we commit to shipping your box to you within 2-3 business days and in great condition. We have had to transfer your meat to a central shipping freezer so that we can reach all 50 states in a timely manner and keep this commitment. Rest assured, it's still our meat!

  1. How do you safely ship my meat?

We have a thorough and quality controlled process for shipping your meat. It is always held within temperature controlled facilities and is packaged in vacuum-sealed bags and then “sleeves” or other boxes. Your meat stays frozen  as we pack it into shipping boxes, add dry ice, and then seal it tightly. We ensure that your meat arrives to you within 1-3 days so that the ice will last and the meat remains frozen.

  1. When will my order arrive?

Your meat will arrive within 1 to 3 days of shipping. If you place an order Thursday-Sunday, the order will be shipped the next Monday, to ensure that it doesn't get "stuck" over the weekend. Please be mindful of major holidays and the impact that may have on major shipping carriers–we anticipate one to two days extra if the order is placed on or just before a major holiday.

  1. Do I have to be at home to receive an order?

You do not have to be home to receive an order. The carrier will simply leave it on your porch or doorstep. We do, however, suggest bringing it indoors and placing it inside your freezer as quickly as possible. Please do not leave meat out doors, especially in hot temperatures.

  1. Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes. Our cardboard packaging is all recyclable.
